RFID innovation for sustainability

Talkin’ Things actively invests in developing new technologies of RFID tag production to reduce the environmental footprint. One of the key steps is shifting towards sustainable RFID antenna production methods. Today we already offer a range of eco-friendly products and will vastly expand this offer very soon. We are proud that our products and solutions used by clients contribute to waste reduction or diminish carbon footprint by optimizing logistic processes.

Our eco-antenna process

At Talkin’ Things we have developed an innovative, clean process of RFID antenna production that uses abrasion instead of a chemical process. Our proprietary design process ensures that the antennas produced with these methods have outstanding reading performance.

Our approach to sustainable RFID

Reducing the need for transport

Concentrating most of the tag production processes under one roof significantly reduces the need for long-distance transport of materials and semi-finished products. Production in UE also makes the overseas route of the final product to our major clients much shorter.

Lowering the environmental impact of the production

Even though RFID manufacturing is already a relatively low-impact process due to relatively low material and energy usage per item produced, we put all our efforts into streamlining it further. We choose the green methods wherever available – such as the milling process for antenna manufacturing. And for all operations, we monitor and optimize the energy consumption. With low thickness PET, we reduce the amount of plastic used, and with FSC papers, we ensure responsible use of natural resources. We also pay close attention to reducing material waste at every step of product design.

Packaging – reduce and reuse

We choose our packaging material wisely and minimize its usage not to exceed what is necessary to protect our products in transit – fully recyclable cartons, paper packing tapes, and avoiding multilayered materials. We also use cardboard pallets which, by weight reduction and freight volume optimization, contribute to further reducing the carbon footprint.

Quality assurance

For us, the definition of quality is: the performance of the final product and the adherence to all regulations and good practices during the whole production process, including proper waste management.

Sustainable products

At Talkin’ Things, we are committed to reducing the environmental impact of our products while maintaining exceptional performance. A prime example of this commitment is our laser-cut, paper-based White Ram™ (TT-4216) tag, which exemplifies our dedication to sustainability and innovation.

Digitalization

We use a range of digital tools to limit the need for business travel to bare minimum. This approach helps us serve clients worldwide while adhering to our green principles.

Supporting the circular economy

We are proud that our products and solutions contribute to waste reduction or optimization of logistic processes. Better control of physical assets or products in the supply chain means less transport is required, and increased transport efficiency reduces the carbon footprint.
